Gala

    The most expensive, usually formal, engraved invitations with RSVP cards and stamped return envelopes, auction catalogs are mailed in advance, use formal ballroom with catering and valet parking, meals entail several courses served by formal waiters, usually evening event with music or entertainment, tickets range $75-$500 per person with expenses ranging from $60-$100, planning is 18 months, planning and the event is labor intensive.

Fiesta

The fiesta will cost $16 to $30 per person with tickets ranging from $25 to$50. It is dressy but not black tie. You have more flexibility on hall, lunch or evening event,  indoor or outdoor, decorations are festive but not expensive, meal is served or buffet, auction catalog may be printed or items showcase, may include raffle, music or presenter.

Impromptu Event

Tickets are $10 to $25, held at church hall or outside venue such as park, food is usually potluck or donated buffet style, invitation is by word of mouth or online advertising, typically includes a silent auction and/or live auction.
